GILGIT (Kashmir English): The schedule for the general elections of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly has been officially announced.
According to a statement issued by the Election Commission, the polling for the GB elections 2026 will be held on June 7, 2026.
Chief Election Commissioner Raja Shahbaz Khan, while announcing the date, said that the GB elections 2026 will be held under the Elections Act 2017 and GB Order 2018, and all arrangements will be completed as per the prescribed laws.
It was further informed that the notification issued has also been sent for publication in the Pakistan Gazette, after which the official start of the election activities will be considered.
