Muzaffarabad admin sets up ‘Control Room’ to regulate Ramadan prices

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The district administration has set up a control room in the Deputy Commissioner’s Office to moderate the prices of essential commodities.

The Control room will keep a check and balance on the prices of food, LPG gas, and basic grocery items in the Muzaffarabad district during Ramadan

The Contol room will also facilitate the public through a proper complaints registration method where every filed complaint will be taken under consideration and strict action will be taken against the shopkeeper who does not comply with the rules.

The magistrates will make sure to effectively implement the rate list issued by the Chairman Price Control Committee Muzaffarabad and will be required to check all shops, markets, and cheap Ramadan bazaars in their respective areas and submit their performance reports to the control room daily.

According to the order issued by the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, the control room will also function as a complaints cell, and a special contact number has also been issued.

Complaint Registration Numbers: 

Complaints regarding prices can be lodged by the public on phone numbers 920224 and 920055. For the prompt and timely redressal of the complaints received, Deputy Commissioner Muzaffarabad will monitor the performance of the magistrates daily on WhatsApp.

The staff working in the control room will be present at all times and perform their duties even after office hours.

The in-charge of the control room will send a news report to the District Information Officer Muzaffarabad regarding the action taken daily by the magistrates so that the public can be kept informed about the action taken to redress their grievances by publicizing it.
