ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, have officially announced the release date for Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6: it will launch on Thursday, November 19, 2026.
The long-awaited confirmation comes after several years of investigation and previous schedule changes. The game will be available exclusively for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 at launch.
What To Expect
In GTA 6, players will return to Vice City, which has now been rebuilt as a contemporary city situated within the fictional state of Leonida, which serves as a parody of Florida. The game’s narrative centers around two protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, marking the series’ first female lead.
The story follows a “Bonnie and Clyde” dynamic, with the characters committing crimes throughout the city, while Lucia appears in prison clothes, which suggests a plot that shows both sides of her character.
GTA 6 Estimated Price
With analysts predicting pre-order sales could exceed $1 billion, there’s speculation that GTA 6 will come with a significant price increase, potentially breaking the standard pricing structure.
Take-Two has not announced the GTA 6 price yet. Strauss Zelnick told investors that the game would have a “fair” price. The GTA 6 price has become a hot-button issue as more publishers shoot for an $80 price tag.
Zelnick said, “Our goal always is to deliver more value than what we charge.” A $100 price tag has become possible to achieve. Zelnick stated that variable pricing has existed since the company began.
The special editions provide more consumer value, which allows for higher pricing. Mike Straw from Insider Gaming discussed GTA 6’s price during the weekly podcast. He believes the price will be “80”.
The base game will cost “80” while the $100 and $130 versions will exist. They plan to release a $300 collector’s edition version of the product. This prediction serves as an estimation of future outcomes.
Matthew Ball predicts that GTA 6 will cost $100. The price increase would violate the “$70 barrier,” which enables publishers and developers to fix market price declines. The GTA 6 launch announcement caused Take-Two’s stock price to increase significantly, and we believe this pattern will continue until more information about the game becomes public.
Industry analysts predict that GTA 6 will earn more than $1 billion from pre-order sales. The crime game serves as the main asset that enables Take-Two to achieve its goal of “over $8 billion in net bookings and over $1 billion in adjusted unrestricted operating cash flow.”
When will GTA 6 be available for PC and Xbox Players
According to Rockstar’s established rules, PC users must wait because the Windows version will launch between late 2026 and 2027. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick explained that the delay pushback from May 2026 needs to happen because the game requires additional time to reach the level of polish that fans expect.
Zelnick stated that the extra development time would enable Rockstar to create “perfection” instead of hurrying the game to market.
Take-Two confirmed that GTA 6 will not be accessible on Xbox Game Pass at launch, which establishes the game as a premium full-price product.
