NEW YORK (Kashmir English): Meta has introduced football-related features across its apps, including Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Threads, and Messenger, ahead of the  FIFA World Cup 2026.

Meta has partnered with broadcasters, teams from different countries, players, commentators, and creators.

Now, Meta’s apps will offer live scores, real-time chat, football-based communities, themes, and tools based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

They aim to make it easier for users to access FIFA World Cup 2026 -related content. Meta is introducing live chats regarding the Football World Cup in Threads.

This feature aims to help football fans join real-time discussions, which will be hosted by football-related personalities.

The platform is also introducing a football community where users can chat or share other details on match days.

In addition, several football-themed features are being introduced in threads, while users will also be able to track live scores, support their favorite teams through profile flares, and use football-themed stickers or emoji reactions.

Moreover, A World Cup hub is being introduced on Instagram, where Reels, Stories, user content, broadcaster coverage, and updates related to various teams can be viewed.

The photo-sharing app is introducing an AI-based voice effect called Goal for Direct Messages, while football-themed animations will also be available.

A special football mode has been added for Facebook users. For this, you have to click on the Facebook logo twice in the app, after which the themes Reactions, Superprizes and a football game will be unlocked.

In addition, the Meta AI-based Wear It feature will also be available to users, which will allow users to virtually try on the jerseys of their favorite teams and share the photos on the platform.

Facebook Messenger is introducing live updates, which will send important match events such as goals and red cards directly to group chats, while football-themed backgrounds and animated sticker packs will also be available.

In WhatsApp, the football emoji has been temporarily replaced with the official match ball of the event, which users can use during the tournament.

Football-themed video call effects, sticker packs, and a football dictionary have also been added to the messaging app. This dictionary will contain scores, team details, updates, and official channel content.
