KARACHI (Kashmir English): The Sindh government is going to distribute free pink electric scooters to women in the coming weeks.

The announcement to this effect corresponds to the International Women’s Day.

The officials have termed the decision a revolutionary step toward women’s empowerment.

Senior Provincial Minister for Information and Transport, Sharjeel Inam Memon while sharing details of the project, stated that the initiative is part of a mission to provide women with safe, protected, and environmentally-friendly transport.

Under the program, selected women will receive modern electric scooters designed to save energy and reduce environmental pollution.

The government will also provide formal driving training and road safety awareness sessions for all recipients to ensure users safety.

The “Pink Electric Scooter Program” will play a vital role in empowering women by providing them with ease of transportation.

Addressing the ceremony, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said Sindh is the first province in the country to introduce electric buses in Pakistan.
