ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The market price of broiler meat shows ongoing market changes, while official price records show a Rs 22 per kilogram decrease in broiler chicken prices.
The official price of broiler meat on holidays has been fixed at Rs 446 per kg. The market committee has determined that the live broiler chicken price at farm gates should be set at Rs 280 per kilogram.
Live broiler chicken wholesale price assessment establishes Rs 294 per kilogram as the standard rate, while retailers must sell the product at Rs 308 per kilogram. Overcharging practices persist in various parts of the city because people sell broiler meat at prices beyond the established limits.
Citizens report that certain shopkeepers sell meat products at prices that violate the established official rates. Broiler meat is available for sale at some locations for prices up to Rs 550 per kilogram under the label of “clean meat.”
The current price of farm eggs stands at Rs 236 per dozen. The wholesale price for a carton of eggs has been established at Rs 6,960.
