MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The joint opposition of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, while holding an important press conference at the Central Press Club, has strongly criticized the government and made it clear that the PPP government has lost its majority.

Former Prime Ministers Raja Farooq Haider Khan, Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, and Leader of the Opposition Shah Ghulam Qadir, and other members of the assembly were present in the press conference.

Leader of the Opposition Shah Ghulam Qadir, while addressing the gathering, said that Azad Kashmir is a sensitive region where public issues should be discussed only in the assembly. He claimed that the PPP does not have a clear majority; if their behavior is not correct, a no-confidence motion can be brought. Shah Ghulam Qadir further said that the election period is near, which is why we are just watching for now.

Former Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan said that we thought that this government was a temporary arrangement for the elections, but the prediction of the fifth Prime Minister coming is now proving true.

He opposed bringing new projects without the approval of the assembly and said that Pakistan cannot leave this area without a Wali Waris, as it is its constitutional responsibility.

Former Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq condemned the recent terrorist incidents in Pakistan and paid tribute to the Pakistani armed forces. He questioned the government’s performance and said that for the first time in political history, the government walked out of the assembly despite the quorum being present. He announced that a requisition has been submitted for the assembly session, and the government will have to come and respond.

Khawaja Farooq Ahmed said that we will not let the assembly become a joke and want the assembly to complete its term. Condemning the acts of revenge, he demanded the immediate appointment of the Election Commissioner and timely elections. Opposition leaders warned that destabilizing the government is not a difficult task, it is too late to pinch.
