LAHORE (Kashmir English): TikToker Alina Amir has requested Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to take legal action against a deepfake video that shows her face and is currently spreading across social media platforms.
She announced her decision to speak out after spending one week in silence because she found social media posts that made false allegations about her video being leaked. She condemned people who try to harm others through reputation attacks, while she asked social media users to check content legitimacy before they post it online.
“I sincerely request Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz sahiba to take action against all these culprits who create videos of women to malign them and ruin their lives,” she appealed.
Amir praised the work of the Punjab Cyber Crime Department while requesting authorities to treat the situation as a serious case that needs to result in maximum penalties against those who create artificial intelligence videos of women.
The creation of fake videos to defame someone constitutes harassment, according to her statement, because she explained that attackers now target both actors, TikTokers, influencers and regular people by sending defaming videos to their families.
The social media influencer announced a cash reward for anyone who provided information about the person behind the fake video, emphasising that women should speak up and raise their voices instead of staying silent.
