ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The government has reduced the price of jet fuel used for commercial aircraft by Rs 48.80 per liter, providing major relief to airlines and the aviation sector.

Aviation sources say that after this recent reduction, the new price of jet fuel in the country has become Rs 283.52 per liter.

According to sources, fuel cost is a major part of the operational expenses of any airline, so the reduction in the price of jet fuel is expected to significantly reduce the financial burden of airlines.

In this context, there is a possibility of a reduction in the fares of domestic and international flights across the country, however, the final decision in this regard will be taken by the concerned airlines.

According to aviation sources, the government has so far reduced the price of jet fuel by Rs 283 per liter, which is being termed as a major development for the aviation sector.

The jet fuel price was Rs 188 per liter on February 28, before the war in the Middle East.
