Hidden Android settings to make your phone faster

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Android smartphones are the most widely used mobile devices in the world, but many users are unaware of several built-in features that can significantly improve their phone experience.

From boosting perceived speed to fixing annoying app behaviors, a few Android settings can make a noticeable difference, especially on older or budget devices.

One of the most useful tools is Developer Mode, a hidden settings menu that unlocks advanced controls. Users can enable it by going to Settings > About Phone and tapping the Build Number seven times.

A message then confirms that Developer Mode has been activated.

Once enabled, users can adjust animation speeds, which can make the phone feel much faster. While this tweak does not technically increase processing power, it reduces the time visual effects take to play, creating a smoother experience.

To do this, go to Settings > System > Developer Options, scroll down, and change Window Animation Scale, Transition Animation Scale, and Animator Duration Scale to lower values such as 0.5x or turn them off.

Another common issue Android users face is links automatically opening in specific apps instead of a web browser.

This happens when apps are set as default handlers. The problem can be fixed by going to Settings > Apps & Notifications, selecting the relevant app, tapping Open by Default, and choosing Clear Defaults.

These small adjustments can help users get more control over their devices and improve day-to-day performance without installing any additional software.
