ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistani security forces responded effectively to provocative firing by the Afghan Taliban forces along the Pak-Afghan border in Balochistan’s Qila Saifullah sector on Tuesday.
According to the security sources, the Tehreek-i-Taliban Afghanistan (TTA) carried out provocative firing from Kanyan Thana at Pakistan’s Faisal Post, which own troops responded disproportionately.
In response, the security forces engaged seven border posts/Thanas of the Afghan Taliban using mortars, drones, and tanks, the security sources asserted.
As a result of the operation, Afghan soldiers reportedly suffered casualties and abandoned their posts and ran away.
Officials said Pakistani forces remained vigilant and fully prepared to respond to any future provocations, adding that the country would not tolerate cross-border aggression.
