KARACHI (Kashmir English): Pakistan’s Information Technology (IT) sector posted its highest-ever monthly exports in December, crossing $400 million for the first time.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) data, IT exports reached $437 million in December 2025, up from $348 million in the same month a year earlier, marking a 26% year-on-year increase.

The rise reflected 23% month-on-month growth compared to $356 million recorded in November 2025. Previously, the highest monthly exports stood at $386 million in October 2025.

For the first half of Fiscal Year 26, IT exports have reached $2.24 billion, up 20% year-on-year, making IT the largest and most consistent contributor within services exports with the largest trade surplus.

With six months remaining in the financial year, IT exports could reach between $4.2 billion and $4.5 billion if the current pace continues, industry representatives said.

An IT exporter said consistent government policies have helped sustain export growth and are expected to support further expansion through joint efforts by the public and private sectors.
