ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): In the Henley Passport Index 2026, the passport of Pakistan has gone up to the 98th position, which shows the country’s diplomacy getting stronger and international treaties getting signed that are, little by little, allowing more freedom for the travelers from the country.

This upgrading, which is shared with Yemen, is an indicator of gradual development in the area of global mobility and access. Holders of Pakistani passports have the privilege of visiting thirty-one countries in Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, and Oceania just by showing their passports.

The visa-free resorts include Barbados, Dominica, Haiti, Micronesia, Montserrat, Rwanda, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, and Vanuatu. There are eleven countries for which a visa-on-arrival can be procured: Burundi, Cambodia, Cape Verde, Comoros Islands, Cook Islands, Djibouti, Guinea-Bissau, Madagascar, Maldives, Mozambique, and Nepal.

The processing time for these countries is usually less than one hour. Also, with an electronic travel authorization, travelers can enter Kenya, Seychelles, and Sri Lanka. These places are very different in terms of nature, such as tropical islands, African safaris, South Asian cultural hubs, and Pacific escapes, which is why travelers have the advantage of having a lot of choices and convenience.

To enhance the service quality, Pakistan launched the Digital Integrated Dashboard that allows real-time monitoring of passport applications, their printing, and delivery.

The recent passport design that is giving acknowledgment to Pakistan’s heritage with the display of historical and cultural landmarks in the four provinces is not only managing to be attractive to the public but also combining security with an international standard at the same time.

According to the Index, Singapore remains at the top of the list among all countries with the best passport offering the right to come without a visa to 192 places, followed closely by Japan and South Korea (188). Moreover, the UAE has also made it to the top-five list and even left behind some countries like New Zealand, Australia, the UK, and Canada, which slipped to 10th with 179 destinations.
