SEOUL (Kashmir English): Samsung may finally close the fast-charging gap with rivals like OnePlus, as new leaks suggest the Galaxy S26 Ultra will receive a significant power upgrade.

According to reliable tipster Ice Universe, Samsung has internally tested a 60W wired charging setup for the upcoming flagship, a notable jump from the 45W limit found on the Galaxy S25 Ultra released in 2025.

Under controlled testing conditions, this new 60W configuration reportedly fueled the device from 0% to 75% in just 30 minutes.

Samsung’s most substantial charging improvement

While real-world speeds may vary based on temperature and accessories, this move marks Samsung’s most substantial charging improvement in years.

Despite its premium status, Samsung has historically lagged behind competitors in charging speeds.

OnePlus 15: Supports 80W wired charging.

Oppo, Xiaomi, & Honor: Frequently offer speeds exceeding 100W.

A shift to 60W would help Samsung compete more effectively against the OnePlus 15, which remains the primary Chinese brand with a major U.S. market presence.

Reports from WinFuture suggest that this charging boost may be exclusive to the highest-tier model. The predicted speeds for the 2026 lineup are:

Galaxy S26 Ultra: 60W

Galaxy S26 Plus: 45W

Galaxy S26 (Standard): 25W

By reserving the 60W upgrade for the Ultra, Samsung appears to be further incentivizing users to opt for its most expensive flagship model.
