Pakistan launches EO-3 satellite, advancing space capabilities

RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has announced a major milestone with the successful launch of Pakistan’s indigenous Electro-Optical Satellite (EO-3) from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center.

The achievement marks a significant step forward in the country’s efforts to enhance its space technology and move towards greater self-reliance.

According to officials, the EO-3 satellite will provide high-resolution imaging data to support urban planning, disaster management, food security, and environmental protection.

The satellite is also expected to play a key role in building an integrated Earth Observation System aimed at addressing national priorities and contributing to sustainable socio-economic development.

On the occasion, Shehbaz Sharif praised the dedication and professional excellence of SUPARCO’s engineers and scientists. He also acknowledged the continued support of China as Pakistan’s long-standing partner in the space sector, highlighting the importance of bilateral cooperation in achieving technological advancements.
