Sydney (Kashmir English): Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam scored a fifty to help Sydney Sixers in victory against Sydney Thunder in a Big Bash League (BBL) game at ENGIE Stadium on Saturday.
After failing in the first two matches, Babar Azam put on a brilliant performance in the third match, scoring an excellent 58 runs off 42 balls against Sydney Thunder, which included 5 fours and 2 sixes. His strike rate was 138.09.
Babar Azam’s excellent batting provided a strong start for the Sydney Sixers, making it easier for the team to gain control of the match.
The Sydney Sixers won the match with a brilliant 47-run lead in the allotted overs, and the winning team’s batsman Josh Philippe was declared man of the match for his brilliant innings of 96 runs.
It is worth remembering that former national captain Babar Azam had faced failure in the first two matches. In the previous match, he was out after scoring only 9 runs off 10 balls against Adelaide Strikers and disappointed his fans.
However, in the third match, he not only regained his form but also laid the foundation for the team’s victory.
This innings by Babar Azam clearly shows that he is ready to perform at a high level in the Big Bash League (BBL) as well.
