LAHORE (Kashmir English): Pakistani cricketers have expressed their desire to leave the Big Bash League (BBL) and go to Sri Lanka to prepare for the World Cup.
According to details, some national players participating in the BBL say that they want to join the series against Sri Lanka so that they can improve their performance before the World Cup.
According to sources, Pakistani players in the BBL, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan and others, contacted the think tank and said that there is a difference between the pitches of Australia and Sri Lanka, and going directly to Australia to play the World Cup can affect performance.
It should be noted that the CEO of Cricket Australia had recently assured that the event can be completed despite the departure of Pakistani players to Sri Lanka.
Sources say that the schedule of the Sri Lankan series was not fixed at the time of the Big Bash League agreement, so the players’ request came out suddenly.
Cricket experts say that this move can be beneficial for the future performance of the players and the national team’s preparation for the World Cup.
The players are currently not only trying to maintain their form but also trying to give the best results for Pakistan at the international level.
In the busy schedule of world cricket, players are making sensitive decisions to maintain a balance between their fitness, form and the needs of the team.
The guidelines agreed between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Big Bash League administration are expected to ensure that the players play their role in the league.
