Food Authority inspects hotels in Muzaffarabad

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Muzaffarabad Food Authority sealed a hotel and a warehouse over hygiene issues and poor handling of food.

Fines and corrective notices were issued for violation of food safety regulations. According to details, Assistant Food Safety Officer Qazi Shafiq-ur-Rehman, accompanied by the Food Authority team, Syed Muhib Ali Naqvi and others, conducted a detailed inspection of hotels, grocery stores, and general stores located on Jalalabad and Tariqabad Road.

During the inspection, hygiene, workers health, food quality, and food handling procedure was checked.

During the inspection, issues of dirty utensils, poor hygiene, and poor worker health were found in a hotel in Jalalabad.

Poor food quality

Food quality was also found poor, on the basis of which the hotel and warehouse were immediately sealed.

Other food points were issued corrective notices and fines to ensure full compliance with food safety regulations in the future. District Food Controller Muzaffarabad Abrar Ahmed Mir said that public health is their top priority.
