ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): As the winter season has finally begun in Pakistan, the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) has announced the gas load shedding schedule for winter 2025.
While the winter season is at its peak, the SNGPL Winter Gas Load-shedding Schedule 2025 becomes operational to tackle the ever-increasing gas demand across the country.
These schedule plans have been devised to ensure an equitable supply to household consumers in winter. The following timings shall be observed for SNGPL areas, including Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Peshawar, and other small towns of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Winter Gas Load Shedding Schedule 2025
-
Morning: 5:30 AM – 8:30 AM
-
Afternoon: 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM
-
Evening: 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM
During winter, the demand for gas increases manifold for heating, cooking, and water geysers. Restricted gas reserves cannot fulfill peak demand; therefore, SNGPL has fixed supply hours to distribute the commodity in a justified manner and to avoid complete cuts.
SNGPL can vary the schedule depending on weather, gas reserves, or changes in supply. Officials assure the public that efforts are ongoing to stabilize gas distribution.
Citizens are urged to report gas theft or illegal connections to SNGPL to prevent pressure drops and ensure a fair supply.
Tips to Manage Gas Shortage at Home
Cooking during available gas hours. Use electrical appliances where possible. Avoid keeping geysers on for extended periods.
Insulate water pipes and install water-saving taps. Report any leaks or thefts immediately. The Winter Gas Load-Shedding Schedule 2025 is designed to ensure a proper balance of gas supply during winter.
While there may be some inconvenience, following the schedule and using gas responsibly will help ensure that households get a fair share of a smoother winter supply for all.
