FAISALABAD (Kashmir English): South Africa inflicted a crushing eight-wicket defeat on Pakistan in the second ODI to level the three-match series 1-1  at Iqbal Cricket Stadium in Faisalabad on Thursday.

Today’s match was played at the Cricket Stadium in Faisalabad, where national cricket team captain Shaheen Shah Afridi won the toss and decided to bat first.

Pakistan scored 269 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs, while South Africa achieved the target in 40.1 overs for the loss of 2 wickets.

In today’s match, Saim Ayub, Salman Agha and Muhammad Nawaz scored half-centuries for Pakistan.

They scored 90 runs in the last 10 overs. While Salman Agha scored 69 and Muhammad Nawaz scored 59 runs.

The national cricket team failed to make a good start, opener Fakhar Zaman was dismissed for zero, while Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan returned to the pavilion after scoring 11 and 4 runs.

For South Africa, Nandre Burger dismissed 4 and Peter 3 players, while Corbin Bosch took 2 wickets.

For South Africa, Quinton de Kock remained unbeaten on 123, while De Zorzi scored 76.

In addition, Matthew Breetzke was also unbeaten on 17. For Pakistan, Mohammad Wasim and Faheem Ashraf took one wicket each.
