LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Pakistan women’s cricket team, led by Fatima Sana, is leaving for Ireland on Monday morning.
The Pakistan women’s cricket team will participate in a tri-nation T20 Women’s tournament before entering the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.
The tri-nation series between Pakistan, hosts Ireland and the West Indies will be played in Dublin from May 28 to June 4. The purpose of the series is the final preparation before the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup to be held in England and Wales from June 12 to July 5.
The Pakistan women’s team will play 2 matches each against both teams in the series.
The first match is scheduled for May 29 against West Indies, the second match is scheduled for May 31 against Ireland, the third match is scheduled for June 3 against West Indies and the fourth match is scheduled for June 4 against Ireland.
The Pakistan Women’s squad consists of Fatima Sana (captain), Alia Riaz, Ayesha Zafar, Diana Baig, Iman Fatima, Gul Feroza, Iram Javed, Muniba Ali Siddiqui, Nashra Sindhu, Natalia Pervez, Rameen Shamim, Sadia Iqbal, Saira Jabeen, Tasmia Rabab and Tuba Hassan.
The reserve players include Amber Kainat, Momina Riyat, Sadaf Shams, Sidra Amin, Syeda Aroob Shah and Um Hani.
The Pakistan Women’s team’s first group match in the World Cup is against arch-rivals India in Birmingham on June 14, the second match will be against South Africa on June 17, the third match will be against Bangladesh on June 20, the fourth match will be against Australia on June 23, and the fifth and final match will be against the Netherlands in Bristol on June 27.
Before the World Cup, the Pakistan Women’s team will have warm-up matches against Sri Lanka on June 6 and Scotland on June 9.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Women’s team’s 4-day short training camp for the tour of Ireland ended at the LCCA Ground, Lahore. The coaching staff, under the supervision of team mentor Wahab Riaz, tried to improve the fitness and capabilities of the women cricketers.
