DUBAI (Kashmir English): Pakistan will take on arch-rivals India in a thrilling Asia Cup final on Sunday, with a tough contest expected between the two teams.
India has been undefeated so far in the event and is being tipped as the favourites to retain the title as the defending champions.
Pakistan suffered two defeats at the hands of India in the group stage and the Super Four stage, but captain Salman Agha says the team is excited and will try its best to defeat the opponent.
On the other hand, India opener Abhishek Sharma is in excellent form, having scored 309 runs so far, and is the top scorer of the tournament.
Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav leads the bowlers with 13 wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah and other all-rounders have given the team a balanced performance.
Before the final, India maintained their lead by winning the Super Over against Sri Lanka.
This is the first tournament in which Pakistan and India have come face to face since the military conflict in May, which is expected to be more tense in the match.
Fans are eagerly waiting for a thrilling encounter between the two countries.
For the first time in 41 years, the traditional rivals will face each other in the Asia Cup final.
The Pakistan team will hold a practice session today to prepare for the match. There will be no photo shoot with the trophy of both captains today before the final.
