BHMBER (Kashmir English): Bhimber District SHO Barnala Police Station Chaudhry Muhammad Arshad, along with a police team, conducted a major operation against drug peddlers early in the morning.
ASI Sohail Aurangzeb, IHC Anjum Sultan, 74 DFC Aqeel Aslam, Head Constable Akhtar Mehmood, and FC Rana Fahad were also present during the operation.
During the operation, a habitual drug peddler, Rizwan alias Jani, a resident of Kadhala, was arrested. 270 grams of hashish, 60 grams of ice, a 30 bore pistol with a magazine, and 5 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the possession of the accused.
The police have registered a case and started further investigation. According to the police, public complaints were being received against the accused, on action was taken.
Police officials say that drug peddlers are killers of the young generation who are spreading poison in society. Barnala Police Station has expressed its resolve to further tighten the noose against drug peddlers.
