LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Punjab government has opened the registration portal for the Punjab E-taxi scheme 2025.
The Punjab government, on its official X, formally known as Twitter account, announced that the registration for the E-taxi scheme 2025 will begin from today. Whereas, the last date to apply for the scheme will be October 2025.
Earlier, they revealed the instalment plan and balloting schedule for the E-Taxi Scheme 2025 to offer employment opportunities to youth and unemployed citizens and manage air pollution.
A major aspect of the E-Taxi scheme is that its interest-free instalment plan allows electric taxis to become accessible for drivers through easy payments.
During the first phase of the program, 1,100 electric taxis will be given to selected drivers, which will greatly boost the taxi business, especially in cities.
The project will also create a sustainable source of income for youths and unemployed citizens.
The electric taxis in the scheme will have models like the Honri Ve 2.0 and Dongfeng Box, provided with GPS systems, smart meters, and authorized e-taxi branding to provide safe and secure service to passengers.
Eligibility criteria for the E-Taxi scheme
The scheme is available for all residents of Punjab who are 18 years and older, holding a valid driving licence, and having a good bank record.
Both genders are eligible to apply.
It will start taking applications from September 2025 and will create an online registration portal for candidates who are interested.
Deadline for E-taxi scheme 2025
The deadline for submitting forms along with the required documents for applicants will be October 2025.
The balloting and vetting process will be done in November 2025 to ensure equitable selection of beneficiaries.
Distribution of the electric taxis among successful candidates is to start in December 2025, when this revolutionary initiative will be formally launched.
