PCB unveils schedule for Pakistan-South Africa series

LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled the schedule for Pakistan’s all-format series against South Africa.

The first Test match between Pakistan and South Africa is scheduled to be played at the Gaddafi Stadium on October 15, and the second Test match is scheduled for October 20 in Rawalpindi.

After the Test matches, the first match of the series, consisting of three T20 International matches, will be played in Rawalpindi on October 28, and the remaining two matches will be played in Lahore on October 31 and November 1.

Faisalabad will host a One-Day International match after 17 years, where a three-match ODI series against South Africa will be played from November 4 to 8.

It should be noted that Pakistan will host the ICC World Test Championship with South Africa from October 12.

PCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmed said that “We are looking forward to welcome South Africa for the opening series of our ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 campaign.

He added that “Starting the new cycle against the current Test champions will provide quality cricket for our players and fans.”

“The return of ODI cricket to Faisalabad after 17 years is a special moment. Iqbal Stadium holds a proud place in our cricketing history, and we are excited to bring international cricket back to this part of the country,” he noted.

Pakistan-South Africa Series Schedule

  • First Test at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on 12-16 October
  • Second Test at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on 20-24 October
  • First T20I at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on  28 October
  • Second T20I at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on 30 October
  • Third T20I  at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on 1 November:
  • First ODI at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, on 4 November
  • Second ODI at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad on 6 November
  • Third ODI at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad on 8 November
