NDMA issues alert amid rise in Dengue & Malaria cases in flood-affected areas

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a precautionary alert in view of the concerns of dengue and malaria in low-lying and flood-affected areas of the country.

According to the NDMA spokesperson, the risk of mosquito-borne diseases has increased due to heavy rains and the accumulation of floodwater.

The public has been instructed to take precautionary measures, including the use of masks and mosquito nets, to stay safe from diseases.

The spokesperson added that citizens should immediately consult a doctor if any symptoms appear.

The precautionary instructions issued by the NDMA are aimed at preventing the spread of dengue and malaria.

The agency has also expressed concern that there is a possibility of rapid spread of diseases in areas where rain and water accumulate.
