ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The National Cyber Crimes Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has tightened the noose around digital influencers and TikTokers following the arrest of YouTuber Ducky Bhai in a gambling apps promotion scandal.
As the investigation into gambling promotion is underway, the authorities have now summoned several other TikTokers, including Iqra Kanwal, a member of the renowned Sistrolgy group, Anas Ali, Mudassar Hassan, and Muhammad Hasnain.
The agency said that these creators have been included in the investigation over the identification of Saad-ur-Rehman, known as Ducky Bhai.
According to the details, these TikTokers and YouTubers attracted youth towards online gambling applications on social media.
The cybercrime authority said that they used to advertise online gambling on social media and make innocent people invest in bogus websites by misleading them with fake schemes.
Earlier on Thursday, Lahore district court extended the physical remand of Ducky Bhai for four more days in a case linked to the promotion of online gambling applications.
Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo accepted the agency’s request for further remand, stating that the investigation is still underway.
Earlier this week, Rehman was arrested at Lahore Airport as his name had been placed on the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL) due to multiple investigations. NCCIA officials claim he promoted several gambling apps through at least 27 videos on social media.
