MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The federal government has released Rs 9.61 billion as a development grant to the government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
This amount will be used for the completion of various development projects.
According to a notification issued by the Finance Division, the amount has been released as a “block allocation” to cover the development projects of the first half (first and second quarters) of the financial year 2025-26.
The directive signed by Section Officer Babar Nazir clarified that the amount will be used exclusively for those schemes that are already approved by the competent authority and listed in Azad Kashmir’s own Annual Development Program (ADP).
The State Bank of Pakistan has already been instructed by the federation to process the transfer.
AGPR has been instructed to adjust the amount in this year’s accounts and verify the transactions.
It should be remembered that the federation has allocated 48 billion rupees in the budget for the development program of Azad Kashmir, while a special package of 5 billion rupees has also been included in the budget by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
