MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): A contempt of court petition has been filed against the Chief Secretary and Food Secretary of Azad Kashmir for failing to provide the wheat quota to flour mills.
The petition was filed in the AJK High Court by Muzaffarabad Flour and General Mills (Pvt) Ltd. through its Director, Khawaja Imtiaz Ahmed.
Hearing the case today, the top court judge, Justice Chaudhry Khalid Rashid, issued notices to the parties and scheduled a hearing for September 10.
The petitioner claimed that, despite a High Court order dated September 16, 2024, and a subsequent Supreme Court decision upholding the High Court’s order, the Food Department had not allotted the wheat quota to the company.
As a result, the company is facing significant financial losses and difficulties for its employees.
The petitioner requested the court to take action against the officers responsible for disobeying the court order.
The plea stated that the company was established under a state government notification of 2012 and is registered under the Companies Act 2017.
