RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): Pakistan and Iran have pledged to intensify efforts against terrorism and strengthen joint security along their borders.
The development came during a telephone call between the Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, and the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi.
According to a statement issued by the Iranian embassy, the two sides have agreed to eliminate terrorism on the common border and make it secure.

The COAS said that the two sides must “jointly turn the Pakistan-Iran border into a border of friendship, brotherhood, and economic development.”
“Field Marshal Munir expressed his gratitude for Mousavi’s sympathy for the Pakistani nation and expressed his condolences for the families of the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Province.”
According to the Iranian news agency IRNA, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi expressed sympathy for the flood-affected people in Pakistan and said that Iran would be proud to provide all possible cooperation within its means to help its Pakistani brothers.
Expressing satisfaction with the bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan, he said that the two countries are advancing communication and cooperation with each other in various fields.
The Iranian commander further commended Pakistan’s support for Tehran during the recent 12-day conflict with Israel, noting that the two countries had been cooperating on multiple levels.
