RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): In honor of Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Kashmir (Kashmir Martyrs’ Day), Deputy Commissioner Poonch has declared a public holiday on Friday, August 29, 2025.
The notification states that all district government offices will continue to be closed. Nonetheless, department heads have been directed to make sure that their staff members attend the formal ceremony, which will take place at the District Headquarters Complex in Rawalakot.
The purpose of the holiday is to honor and commemorate the sacrifices made by the Kashmiri martyrs.
Senior officials, including the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, the Commissioner of Poonch Division, the Superintendent of Police of Poonch, and the Information Department, have received copies of the notification and will take the appropriate action.
