Azad Kashmir: Mirpur police arrest murder suspect upon return from Dubai

MIRPUR, AJK (Kashmir English): Mirpur Police achieved a major breakthrough by arresting a proclaimed offender Waleed Ansar, wanted in a murder case, as he returned from Dubai.

The suspect had fled abroad after committing the crime but was apprehended by the police at the airport upon his arrival.

According to details, the accused Waleed Ansar had brutally shot and killed a well-known teacher, popularly known as Jeela Motor, some time ago at Ban Khurman.

Mirpur family, public sought immediate justice

The murder created panic and fear in the area, while the victim’s family and the public demanded immediate justice.

Following the incident, the accused escaped overseas and had long been declared an absconder.

Police sources confirmed that the arrest was made possible with the cooperation of Interpol and relevant agencies. A police team, already present at the Islamabad airport, took the suspect into custody as soon as he landed.

The accused has now been transferred to Mirpur, where further interrogation and recovery of the murder weapon is underway.

Police officials stated that no criminal would be allowed to escape the law, adding that absconders fleeing abroad would eventually be brought to justice.

Locals and the victim’s family praised the successful operation, calling it an important step toward justice and restoring public confidence.
