CALI (Kashmir English): An Explosion in Cali city of Colombia has rocked the country, killing at least thirteen people and injuring more than 36.
Local authorities have described the incident as the work of narco-terrorists, dealing a serious blow to the country’s fragile peace efforts.
According to police, the explosion took place near a military aviation school, apparently targeting military installations.
The explosion was so powerful that its echoes were heard for several kilometers, while nearby buildings and a school were immediately evacuated.
An eyewitness told the local news agency that a powerful explosion occurred near the air base, there were screams everywhere, and several houses were damaged.
The city’s mayor, Alejandro Ader, confirmed the death toll according to initial reports and said that the number of injured was 36.
The city administration has temporarily banned heavy vehicles from entering the city due to security concerns and has announced a $10,000 reward for information leading to the identification of the attackers.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but Mayor Eder has described it as a narco-terrorist attack.
