ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast more rain, accompanied by wind and thundershowers, for several regions through Sunday.

The Met Office predicted that rain-wind/thundershowers are likely in Kashmir, upper Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

There is also a possibility of isolated heavy downpours in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the Potohar region, northeastern Punjab, and Kashmir.

Heavy rainfall to increase water flow in local streams

The heavy rainfall is likely to increase the water flow in local streams and nullahs in several areas, including Dir, Swat, Shangla, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Murree, Galiyat, and Kashmir. Residents in these regions are advised to exercise caution.

Furthermore, the PMD has issued a warning that landslides or mudslides may lead to road closures in the vulnerable hilly areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Murree, and Galiyat.
