SRINAGAR (Kashmir English): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has raised alarm over the worsening human rights situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and called for urgent world intervention.

In a statement from Srinagar, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas condemned the ongoing military repression, arbitrary detentions, and India’s consistent defiance of UN resolutions.

He asserted that a UN-supervised plebiscite remains the only viable path to a just and lasting resolution of the dispute, essential for peace in South Asia.

A high-profile India-Pakistan peace dialogue held in New Delhi reignited calls for restoring Jammu and Kashmir’s special status and reviving structured political engagement. The participants unanimously emphasized that militarization cannot replace dialogue.

Fresh wave of repression in occupied Kashmir

Meanwhile, in a fresh wave of repression, Indian police have arrested at least 10 Kashmiri youth during coordinated raids in Srinagar, Budgam, Pulwama, and Ganderbal districts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

At the same time, Indian army and paramilitary forces launched a cordon and search operation in Dhalery village of Jammu’s Akhnoor Sector, further deepening the atmosphere of fear and surveillance throughout the region.

A 35-year-old woman was also shot by a member of the Indian Army-backed Village Defence Guard in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar district.
