DC Bhimber takes serious notice of poor cellular services in district

BHIMBER, AJK (Kashmir English): Deputy Commissioner Bhimber Chaudhry Haq Nawaz has taken serious notice of poor cellular services in the district and asked the mobile phone service companies Telenor, Mobilink and Ufone to improve service within one week.

According to a letter written by Deputy Commissioner Bhimber to high ups of Telenor, Mobilink and Ufone, cellular services in sub-division Bhimber, Samahni and Barnala is very poor which quite often leads to no service for customers.

The letter said that the users have to face difficulties in connecting on a daily basis and the situation become even more concerning in case of an emergency.

The Deputy Commissioner held that in the present age, mobile phones are not only a tool to connect socially but also play an important role in imparting education.

Cellular companies franchises

The letter further said that all the cellular companies have their franchises across the region but have no complaint offices.

In a kind of chargesheet against the cellular companies, the Deputy Commissioner said that the cellular companies used to deduct 35 per cent of the credit straightaway while there would be no service during load-shedding.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the users are provided with 2G/3G service in the name of 4G.

The strong-worded letter further said that the service providers have no regard for public sufferings adding that poor cellular service is a source of irritation and anxiety among the customers.

The Deputy Commissioner further said that the customers have repeatedly given protest calls over poor cellular services in the region which, he added, could create law-and-order situation if the issue is not redressed.

The letter directed the concerned to improve service within one week time so that people don’t protest and create law and order situation.
