RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Chief of Air Staff, Chief of Naval Staff, and the Armed Forces of Pakistan have paid heartfelt tribute to Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, on his 26th death anniversary.
A statement from ISPR said that during the 1999 Kargil War, Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed displayed unparalleled bravery and love for his homeland, sacrificing his life in defence of the motherland.
He is a shining symbol of courage and determination for the Pakistan Armed Forces and the entire nation.
According to the ISPR, his valour, leadership, and devotion to duty in adverse conditions reflect the highest traditions of the Pakistan Army.
He showed extraordinary bravery while confronting the enemy on the frontline and sacrificed his life in defence of the homeland.
Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed’s great sacrifice
The statement said that Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed’s great sacrifice reflects the spirit of sacrifice and devotion to duty that is an integral part of the Pakistan Armed Forces’ character.
“His bravery and patriotism live on in the hearts of the nation and serve as a beacon for future generations. We salute this great hero and reiterate our commitment to pay any price for the defence of our beloved homeland.”
The ISPR further said, “On this day, the Armed Forces renew their pledge to uphold the high values of loyalty, courage, honour, and dignity, which Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed exemplified”.
