JHELUM VALLEY (Kashmir English): A large-scale free eye camp was organized for the residents of areas adjacent to the Line of Control (LoC) in Jhelum Valley district of Azad Kashmir.

The camp, which provided free medical treatment to hundreds of patients from Chakothi, Chinari, Leepa Valley, Hattian Bala, and other nearby villages, was organised in collaboration with Khadija Zareen Khan Foundation and Al-Shifa Eye Trust.

As per details, a team of ophthalmologists conducted free medical examinations of 460 patients, providing free glasses and medicines to 363 individuals suffering from various eye diseases.

Furthermore, eight patients requiring laser surgery were referred to Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital in Muzaffarabad, where they will undergo free surgery.

Arrangements were made for accommodation, food, and travel facilities for patients requiring surgery.

The organisers said that the aim of the free eye camp was to provide treatment facilities to those living near the Line of Control who are deprived of quality treatment due to a lack of resources and unfavorable conditions.

As per details, patients who attended the camp appreciated the services provided by Khadija Zareen Khan Foundation, terming their efforts as commendable and unforgettable.

They highlighted the importance of such welfare initiatives, especially in areas affected by conflict and lacking medical facilities.
