JHELUM VALLEY (Kashmir English): In response to the recent unprovoked Indian firing at LoC, Deputy Commissioner Jhelum Valley Ms Beenish Jarral and Superintendent of Police Mirza Zahid Hussain paid an emergency visit to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Jhelum Valley.
The visit aimed to inquire about the condition of the injured civilians and express solidarity with their families. The Deputy Commissioner spoke with the victims and assured their families of complete administrative support. She directed the hospital management to ensure there was no negligence in the treatment of those injured in the unprovoked Indian firing at LoC.
Ms Jarral stressed that citizens living along the Line of Control are national heroes who face Indian aggression with immense courage, and serving them is a national duty. During the visit, both officials inspected various hospital wards and reviewed the medical care being provided. They discussed existing challenges with hospital staff and expressed satisfaction with the cleanliness of the facility.
However, instructions were also issued to further improve hygiene and ensure the highest standards are maintained. SP Mirza Zahid Hussain assured that all necessary security measures are in place to protect the residents living near the border. He added that whenever incidents like the unprovoked Indian firing at LoC occur, civil and military departments coordinate promptly to deliver aid and relief.
He also appreciated the efforts of the hospital staff and pledged continued support until all injured civilians were fully recovered. Medical Superintendent Dr Muhammad Yaseen, along with senior doctors and paramedical staff, briefed the visiting officials on the medical status of the victims. Dr Yaseen confirmed that the injured had received immediate medical attention and were out of danger.
The visit by the Deputy Commissioner and SP has been widely appreciated by the local community. Citizens viewed it as a practical demonstration of government responsibility. It boosted the morale of the injured individuals and their families, reinforcing the message that the state stands firmly with its people in difficult times.
