KOTLI (Kashmir English): Kotli district administration has imposed a complete ban on all types of construction and development activities on government lands during the Eid-ul-Adha holidays, an order issued on Wednesday said.
The decision was taken to prevent unauthorized construction and occupation of government properties, including Khalsa Sarkar, Shamlat Deh, abandoned properties, endowments, and other state lands.
In a notification, District Magistrate, Major (R) Nasir said that various individuals try to occupy government lands during Eid holidays, which is not only prohibited by law but also poses a serious threat to public order and creates public disputes.
As per details, the ban has been imposed under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code, Section 188, and is effective immediately. Any violation of this order will result in strict legal action against the concerned individuals, the notification added.
The administration has requested citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and report any attempts at illegal construction or occupation to the concerned Assistant Commissioner or any other authority.
