LEEPA VALLEY (Kashmir English): In a disturbing incident late last night, Indian forces carried out unprovoked firing and shelling in the border Labgran village, located in the Leepa Valley, causing significant damage to civilian property. The latest firing in Leepa Valley has once again sparked fear among residents living close to the Line of Control (LoC).

According to local sources, a shell landed on the house of a resident of the Labgran village, Arshad Mughal, causing partial damage. Fortunately, his family members were unharmed. Additionally, the building of the Government Girls Middle School in Labgran was also hit, sustaining partial damage from the shelling.

Indian forces opened unprovoked fire and shelled the border Labgran village in Leepa Valley late last night, causing damage to civilian property.

Last night an intense cross-border firing was reported in Leepa Valley, Labgran village, where Indian forces targeted forward posts, prompting a strong and immediate response from the Pakistan Army, according to security sources. The exchange began with small arms fire that continued for about two hours before escalating to heavy weaponry.

The Pakistan Army retaliated forcefully, leading to a fierce exchange along multiple sectors of the Line of Control (LoC). In the capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Muzaffarabad, the sound of aircraft and gunfire was also heard, heightening tensions in the region. Reports indicated that several Indian posts were destroyed in the Pakistani response.

A day before this incident, heavy fighting had already taken place along the LoC, resulting in significant Indian losses and, according to sources, forcing Indian troops to raise white flags after several of their border posts were blown up by Pakistani forces.

Authorities are still assessing the full extent of the damage in Leepa Valley and Labgran village, while fear and anxiety have gripped the local population following the incident.
