MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): All the police and law enforcement officials who were taken hostage by armed miscreants of the banned Awami Action Committee at the Dhal check post near Palandri last night were safely rescued early this morning.
The officials have reached their homes safely, while legal action is underway against the elements involved in the incident.
According to the authorities, the miscreants involved in serious crimes such as challenging the state administration, taking government officials hostage, and taking the law into their own hands will be brought to justice as per the law.
It has been made clear that no mercy will be shown to those challenging the state writ.
It may be recalled that last night, some police and law enforcement officials deployed at the Dhal check post near Palandri were taken hostage by armed goons of the banned Public Action Committee.
According to eyewitnesses, the law enforcement agencies exercised extreme restraint and responsibility and refrained from immediate retaliation in view of the fear of the nearby population and possible loss of life.
During this time, Deputy Commissioner Palandri and other officials of the district administration were continuously active for the safe recovery of the hostages.
As a result of the timely strategy of the administration, effective communication, and professional efforts of the law enforcement agencies, the officials were safely released.
Taking government officials hostage, trying to intimidate state institutions, and exerting pressure through armed force are clear evidence of the violent intentions and criminal behavior of this group.
The authorities have taken a categorical stand that strict action will be taken against all the miscreants involved in the incident as per the law, and any nefarious attempt against the state will be foiled.
