ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistani digital analysts have warned social media users about an allegedly suspicious X account accused of operating as part of a hidden propaganda campaign.
According to the report, the X account operating under the name Ayesha Ufaq (@Ufaq_RM) and presenting itself as a patriotic Pakistani voice is allegedly linked to a “Trojan horse” style digital operation of the Indian intelligence agency ‘RAW’ designed to influence public opinion and spread misleading narratives.
Experts claim that the account gained popularity by regularly posting content on Pakistan’s political and national issues while portraying itself as strongly pro-Pakistan. However, investigators allege that the account later promoted narratives matching the propaganda line of hostile foreign elements.
The account was unmasked when digital investigators traced its past activities. On February 26, 2021, on the anniversary of the Balakot airstrike, the account allegedly praised Indian Air Force personnel in response to a post by former Indian Air Marshal PK Roy.
At 5:26 AM that morning, the same Ufaq_RM@ account replied to the Indian Air Marshal, writing, ‘They Are Great heroes S sir’.
According to analysts, such behavior raised serious questions regarding the authenticity of the account’s claimed national identity and political positioning.
