PESHAWAR (Kashmir English): The provincial government has imposed Section 144in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa amid security measures.
The Deputy Commissioners of Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Upper South Waziristan, and Lower South Waziristan have issued separate notifications regarding the imposition of Section 144.
According to these notifications, a ban on movement has been imposed for three days in Upper South Waziristan following reports of an explosives-laden vehicle, while vehicular movement has been restricted for ten days in Lower South Waziristan based on similar intelligence.
In Dera Ismail Khan, movement has been banned for three days on four major highways due to the law and order situation. Meanwhile, a three-day restriction has been enforced on four highways in Tank to facilitate the movement of security convoys.
Thus, alongside general security restrictions in the southern districts, the administration has curtailed movement along the potential route of the long march, and security measures have been further intensified with the imposition of a three-day curfew in Hangu district.
Security forces neutralize seven Khawarij in KP and Balochistan
Earlier, security forces killed seven terrorists during operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, while also recovering a large quantity of weapons and ammunition.
According to security sources, an intelligence-based operation was conducted in the Bara area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’ vision, resulting in the deaths of five terrorists belonging to ‘Fitna-ul-Khawarij’; the terrorists’ hideouts were destroyed during the operation, and a significant cache of arms and ammunition was seized from the slain terrorists.
Meanwhile, security forces conducted an operation under ‘Radd-ul-Fasaad-3’ in the Nokcha area of Balochistan’s Chagai district; sources reported that terrorists affiliated with ‘Fitna-ul-Hindostan’ attempted to flee after setting fire to an empty water bowser in Nokcha, but security forces took immediate action and killed two of them.
Sources indicated that the slain terrorists were also involved in arson and subversive activities at various locations along the N-40 Highway; security sources noted that eleven terrorists from ‘Fitna-ul-Hindostan’, involved in similar subversive acts, had also been killed on August 31.
Security forces stated that operations would continue until terrorism is completely eradicated from the country and lasting peace is established, affirming their resolve to eliminate the scourge of terrorism and ensure enduring peace.
