MIRPUR (Kashmir English): The Institute of Dialogue, Development & Diplomatic Studies (IDDDs) will organize a one-day media workshop titled “The Credibility Crisis of Indian Media: The Role of AJK Media” on June 26 in Mirpur.

The event will bring together leading journalists, editors, and anchors from Azad Jammu and Kashmir to critically examine the systematic use of propaganda and disinformation by Indian media—particularly after the events of 5th and 6th of May and to equip AJK journalists with the necessary tools to uphold journalistic integrity, counter false narratives, and reclaim the Kashmiri voice in the global information landscape.

Propaganda narratives in Indian media

Unveiling the objectives of the moot, President Institute of Dialogue, Development & Diplomatic Studies (IDDDs) Dr. Waleed Rasool told media here on Tuesday that the workshop was being hosted to identify and deconstruct misleading terminology polluted by Indian disinformation and challenge propaganda narratives in Indian media.

“Moreover, the event will highlight the need to reclaim and amplify the authentic Kashmiri voice through credible journalism besides strengthening fact-checking and verification as tools of resistance in information warfare,” Dr. Waleed added.
