MUMBAI (Kashmir English): In yet another shocking incident highlighting the deteriorating law and order situation and rising mob violence in India, a woman was brutally assaulted, stripped semi-naked, her hair forcibly chopped, and paraded with garlands of slippers in BJP-ruled Maharashtra state.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident took place in the Vitthal Wadi area of Ulhasnagar in Thane district.
The victim was subjected to extreme humiliation over her entry into a temple at Vitthal Wadi. A video of the incident went viral on social media, triggering widespread outrage.
Ulhasnagar Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Shailesh Kale said that a case has been registered against seven persons and investigations are underway.
