WASHINGTON (Kashmir English): US President Trump has announced that Steve Witkoff and Kushner visit to Pakistan has been canceled, according to foreign media report.

Recently, the US President had announced to send a two-member US delegation consisting of Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Islamabad.

This US delegation was supposed to leave for Pakistan today, however, now in a conversation with the US media, President Trump announced to cancel the visit to Islamabad.

He said that America holds all the cards in this war, the Iranians can talk to America anytime they want. The US President added that when we hold all the cards, it is not beneficial to make a long 18-hour trip to negotiate with Iran.

The American delegation will not go there by flying for 18 hours and sit there for pointless talks.

Iranian FM Abbas Araghchi lauds Pakistan’s role in ceasefire efforts, peace talks

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts aimed at securing a ceasefire and ending the ongoing conflict involving Iran, while also acknowledging Islamabad’s role in mediating negotiations.

Moreover, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchiheld separate meetings with Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

A statement issued by the Iranian embassy said that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi had his first official meeting with Field Marshal Asim Munir.

The meeting was attended by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, National Security Advisor General Asim Malik and DG Military Intelligence.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Gharibabadi, Iranian Ambassador to Islamabad Amiri Moqadam and Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghai were also present in the meeting.

Later, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi met Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif along with a delegation. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Asim Munir also attended the meeting. The regional situation was discussed in the meeting.

It should be noted that The Iranian Foreign Minister will leave for Oman and Russia in the next phase of his visit.

Iranian FM Abbas Araghchi-led delegation lands in Islamabad

Earlier, the Iranian delegation, headed by the Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, has landed in Pakistan on Friday night, the Foreign Office spokesperson said.

In a statement, the Foreign Office said that the Iranian Foreign Minister was received by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff, and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, along with other senior officials upon arrival.

“During the visit, the Iranian Foreign Minister will hold meetings with Pakistan’s senior leadership to discuss the latest regional developments as well as ongoing efforts for regional peace and stability,” the FO spokesperson added.

In a separate statement on X, the Iranian Embassy in Islamabad also confirmed Araghchi’s arrival in Islamabad, saying that he arrived in “order to review bilateral matters and consult on regional developments.”
