CHAGAI (Kashmir English): Security forces have killed 2 terrorists during an operation under Radd-ul-Fitna III in Balochistan’s Chagai district, recovering a large quantity of arms and ammunition, security sources said.
The operation was launched after security forces received information about the presence of terrorists in the area and established a blockade.
During the operation, a suspicious vehicle was signalled to stop, but the driver allegedly sped away after seeing the security blockade, prompting a Quick Reaction Force (QRF) deployed at a nearby bridge to chase the vehicle.
Security sources said that terrorists travelling in the vehicle opened fire on security forces. In exchange of fire, two terrorists were killed. Moreover, sources said that two facilitators were also arrested.
“A huge quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered from their possession, including an M16 rifle with two magazines, a 9mm pistol, a sniper rifle with scope, 63 LMG rounds, a walkie-talkie set, three mobile phones and two bandoliers.”
According to security sources, the recovered weapons and ammunition were allegedly intended for target killings and suicide attacks against people of Balochistan.
Security forces are continuing operations against terrorists in the area until the last terrorist is eliminated, security sources added.
