CHAGAI (Kashmir English): The claims circulating on social media alleging that Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) terrorists have taken control of Chagai city in Balochistan have been declared false and propaganda.
According to the Azaad Fact Check, a statement attributed to a spokesperson for a terror group claiming complete control of the district headquarters, occupation of police and Levies centres, seizure of government buildings, and confiscation of weapons from security forces does not correspond with the facts on the ground.
“This is fake news and Indian propaganda. Nothing has happened in the city of Chaghi, and life is going normally in the city,” the Fact Checker said in a post on X.
District administration and security sources have also strongly denied the reports, stating that the law and order situation remains under control in the region.
According to security analysts, such claims by armed groups are often made for psychological warfare and media attention.
Social media is being used in a highly exaggerated manner, contrary to the facts on the ground, analysts said, adding that claims of complete capture of a city or district headquarters are completely baseless.
