WASHINGTON (Kashmir English): US President Donald Trump has announced devastating economic sanctions against Iran and has also threatened countries and institutions that help maintain the economy with serious consequences.
US President Trump, while issuing a statement on his social media platform Truth Social, said that he is announcing the most devastating economic action against Iran ever taken against any country.
Trump said that this will be an unprecedented scale of economic warfare and an action to isolate Iran, and that any country that provides any kind of support to Iran through its financial and business institutions or other means will also face very serious economic consequences.
He said that Iran’s navy is gone, its air force has been destroyed, its military factories have become a pile of rubble and its currency is worthless.
He said that oil smuggling, currency swap lines, cash transfers, exchange houses, ship registries and front companies should be stopped immediately.
Trump called on the allies to stand with the United States to defeat Iran, calling the measures historic and aimed at weakening the country’s ability to plan and carry out terrorism abroad.
He reiterated that Iran would never be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon.
Trump said that Iran had been given multiple opportunities to reach a deal and failed to take it, and that is why he is imposing the toughest economic sanctions.
